Howdy Fishers

Summer is here and Summer fishing is back. Red grouper on the offshore live bottom 85-185 ft and biting quite good. It seems as though every year red snapper are coming in closer as we are now catching them in less the 100 ft of water which was not so normal just a few years ago. They seem to be getting thicker every year and with just a two month season (June-July)  this year, they should be thicker than ever. I really don't understand it.... Why do they close the fishing season on fish that bite the best. Seems a lot of fish around is taken as a bad thing in the Governments eyes.

Summer trolling is back too, with big barracuda on the reefs and wrecks biting on anything that comes their way. Wow what a great light tackle sport fish. These fish do not get the respect they deserve, they are without a doubt one of the best inshore sport fish around. They bite aggressively and jump several times, with local fish up to fifty pounds, what more could one ask. Spanish mackerel biting on the beach and some of the wrecks, many are very nice size and all are the best eating of the mackerels. King mackerel are still around but fewer in numbers as the water warms all but the big ones go north.

That's it for now .... and remember ..... If you are to busy to go fishing..... You are just to darn busy!
