Thanks for the email. We all thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Both you and Curtis are true professionals and, having gone on dozens of charters over the years, truly stand out amongst the pack.
We definitely will be calling on you guys in the future and especially during spring training.
Thanks for the great time fishing last week. I hope to book with you guys again. I have attached a couple of photos from our trip.
Hey Eric & Curtis, Thanks again for a great time today. The grouper is the best we ever had!!
We had a blast, thank you and Eric.......
We had a great time fishing on your boat. It was the best catch we ever had. We will plan to charter you again.
Dan, We all had a great time we fed all of the families at our condos that night and some people that just walked in because of the smell of fish cooking all enjoyed the fish . We also brought home a small cooler for our summer get together. Have a great year , I still hope to get down this summer with my work crew I'll be in touch.
Thanks, Larry Lash
Thank you, the trip was fantastic. Ed and I will be seeing you again hopefully in the next few weeks.
Thanks for a great trip. We are home and will be having Grouper for dinner tonight and for many nights nights to come. Thanks for freezing the fish. We got it home frozen so will be able to enjoy over 26 pounds of Grouper filets for a while.
Dan and Eric
We had a great time. We are having grouper for dinner and are already planning the next trip with Daisy Mae
Pat, Pete and Allie
What a perfect day of fishing! The Daisy Mae, Captain Dan and Eric are
first class all the way. My only complaint is that I did not have enough room
in my freezer for all of the grouper!! We will definitely be back onboard.
We had a great time. If you ever need references please feel free to give
out my name and number.
Capt Dan and Eric -
We are all ready getting a crew together for are next trip..... we all had a blast thanks to you and Eric, yall are a team...thanks for the memories. Laxdal and associates .....
Larry.... The grouper sandwiches are awesome !!!
Capt Dan and Eric -
Your charter provides an excellent venue for my company to show OUR customers appreciation for their loyalty. This coupled with the fishing skills of an experienced captain and mate, makes the Daisy Mae the RIGHT choice in customer entertainment.
Thanks again. We will definitely be back.

Capt Dan, Capt Eric,
I am the bruiser fishing off the port fighting chair, the one trying to pull the bottom up into the boat, ha.
Thanks Eric, for having the patients to work with me, I finally calmed down and quit trying to hurt myself pulling up imaginary fish tied to rocks. We all enjoyed very much going out with you and Eric, caught a lot of fish, had a great time. Next time I would make sure, I was in better shape, my whole body aches from overdoing it.
One suggestion I have, is for you to place some kind of box / rack or even just hooks, up high along the outside bulkhead for hanging camera's out of the way. Most of the pictures we took were foggy from bringing the camera's from the ice cold air to the HOT outside air.
There just wasn't enough time to waste waiting for the cameras to thaw out before shooting and no one wanted to waste time for pictures when there was fish to be caught.
I am not used to such comforts as air conditioning when I am out on the Gulf. I used to sailboat race from St Petersburg to Isla Mujeres every year, 500 miles across the Gulf, it sometimes took 5 days, depending on the wind, the heat would kill you. It sure was nice having air on your boat, especially for sleeping.
It was a pleasure and joy to spend a day out fishing with Captain Eric and First Mate Curtis! They are really nice and friendly. We had somewhat of a slow day to start, and then Eric put us on the fish and man what a rush. I got the opportunity to haul in the biggest fish I have ever caught, as I am usually a freshwater fisherman (although now I am thinking I am a Grouper guy all the way)! A 27 lbs. Gag Grouper! It was truly a blessed day! Thank you so much for providing us with an opportunity to get away from it all and enjoy a day of great fishing! You have a gem with Capt. Eric and Curtis. I will surely come back for another go around! Eric asked that we email some of the pictures we took to the site to post! So here you go. Sorry, they are not the best, but we will always have the memories of the trip. Please tell Curtis and Eric that George says "Thanks again for a wonderful trip!"
Hi Capt. Dan and Eric,
Just a note to let you know how much fun we had on our first ever fishing trip (Rudisill Party). You certainly can't forget me....I was the one everyone thought was getting a 2 for 1 deal....til that darn barracuda ate my fish...leaving me with just the head! Doesn't that qualify me for the angler of the month club??? I sent you some pictures that we took in a separate email as well. Looking forward to another trip to Madeira Beach and another fishing trip with you! Thanks again!
Sue & Arnie McCleese
Thanks for the memories guys. The fish made it make to Indiana and we are
looking forward to dinner tonight.
The shark is turning into a classic fish stories each time we tell someone…
Ted & Blake
Thank you Capt.'s Dan and Eric,
First class service and 5- star accommodation on board. What a wonderful trip on board Daisy Mae. I am looking forward to another trip next year.
Capt. Dan & Crew,
It was a really nice Cinco De Mayo for Ray and the Disney group !! We saw the picture of Dan Barbarette’s monster grouper on the website…. He couldn’t be happier !!
Thanks for the great fishing trip.
We’re looking forward to pix of Madeline.
Captain Dan and Eric,
Thank you for another outstanding trip and making our California guest happy and giddy! If possible please forward me a copy of the pictures you took. See you next year if not sooner!
Captain Dan and Eric,
Thanks again for another great day on your boat. And another thanks to Eric for getting the great weather for us. We always have such fun on our trips with you two. Looking forward to seeing you again in the fall. Take care.
Paulie and Joanne
I meant to e-mail you a heck of a lot sooner than this but kept getting sidetracked. On behalf of Keys Concrete, my boss Scott, my customers, and myself, I want to thank both you and Eric, along with the crew of the Fantasea, for the terrific fishing trip on January 13th. Everyone just raved about the experience and mention it every time I see them even now. Some of the guys are still walking around with copies of the picture you took at the dock in their pocket and are showing it to anyone they can corner for a minute. My boss Scott was extremely happy with the entire event and remarked on how great you and Eric are to spend the day fishing with. You did a pretty nice job conjuring up perfect weather too, and I’m certain you haven’t heard the last from Keys Concrete and hope to be leaving the dock with you both in the near future.
Eric G. B
Captain Dan & Eric,
I would like to thank you and Eric for a great time we had on Sunday, 01/14/07. I had my son (14), Daughter (17), Son (25) and his wife. This gave me the time to spend with my children. I get caught up with working and everyday things in life and going fishing was a way to bring us together for a family outing. Even though we were not experienced in the fine art of catching grouper, you and Eric took the extra time to help us. I will be back in the near future, and the Peters family will have another family outing.
Again, Thank You,
Back at ya Capt., we had a great time and so did the kids. We made it home at 2am last night. Jeanne put up all the fish this morning and New Years day we will have a great party for family and friends with our catch! I am sure we will be enjoying our catch for quite awhile and Kara and James AKA: April and Bob will be telling everyone that will listen about their adventure. Many thanks to Eric and yourself for a wonderful day! See you in May.
Another great Christmas fishing trip. You have out done yourself once again. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family. Tight Lines and Shoot Straight.
Wow what a great day we had, it started with pulling the bait trap (it was so full I thought Captain Eric was going over the side) Then we started trolling for Spanish. Man O Man they were biting so fast and furious the boys were getting tired reeling them in. Then it was off to slay the mighty Grouper, Truly it was impressive the spots you took us to the number of fish we were catching. Captain Eric worked his butt off keeping up with the guys. I look forward to my next trip with you two real soon.
Port Richey , Fl.
Dear Captain Dan & Eric;
Dan, We went out with you last Sat morning. Most of those guys had barely seen off shore water for the first time, which is probably while we were all ex-Army guys right? Either way they had a great time, and it was the highlight of the weekend. Eric did a superb job, and needs to go on a comedy tour someday.
Dear Captain Dan & Eric;
Hi Captain Dan! Thank you for taking that awful picture of Jerky Grouperman off your home page, it was really making me ill.
Sincerely, and Heartbroken in Tampa ;
Eric Wahoo Brethen
Dear Captain Dan & Eric;
Please remove the photo of Jerky Grouper Man and his sail fish as soon as possible, I am having nightmares about him being in the Hall of Fame and me coming in lousy second place because all I caught were a couple of Wahoo. I wonder if the voting was rigged and would like for you to check the voting machine to see if it was tampered with; I learned a long time ago never trust a guy from Detroit !
Sincerely, and Heartbroken in Tampa ;
Eric Wahoo Brethen
Dan, Thanks for the great trip, we had a great time and look forward to fishing with you both again. We hope to get back out in November when the weather is cooler and the fish are bigger!! We all thank you for a great day on the water catching fish. Eric did a great job and was always there to help us out. We will be back soon to try out a longer trip.
See you both on our next trip!!!
Captain Dan and Captain Eric ,
Sorry it has taken a few days to post , but that in no way reflects the enjoyment of my first ever offshore trip on July 12th,2006 ! I / we really had a fantastic time aboard the Daisy Mae and I would like to thank you both for makin this skinny water fisherman feel at home out there in Your world of blue water ...Maybe next time I will have learned enough to hook up on more of them bites !
You put us on some really nice fish and it was truly an experience I will never forget, I am looking forward to seeing you both again and maybe next time we are going to try and arrange the overnight trip so I can ...get more practice ..:D
I have posted some of the pics up on our website (www.hooked-up.net) and will posting a direct link to you this week in the web links section listed on the front page , right hand side, so we can get ya out there to our visitors and let them know how good you are at what you do !
Thanks again for all you done and we will be seeing you both again soon !
L.T.Cochran and John Levengood
"Hooked-Up Fishing Team "
Just wanted to thank you for the great fishing trip! We really appreciate the time we got to spend fishing with my 78 year old mother. She really enjoyed herself, and had fun catching her share of the fish. We will be going out with you again in the future.
Thank you to Capitan Eric and Robert.
Hey Captain Dan,
This was our first encounter with deep sea fishing, so we were pretty green landlubbers. But, your first mate was great and made even the hardest of challenges (Us) feel right at home. We all enjoyed the trip and the comfort of your boat tremendously. We'd love to do it again sometime and most likely will. I can't think of any two people that tried any harder than you and your first mate to find us fish. The ones we caught were great and the memories .... well, just indescrible with words.
Thank you both for everything.
St. Clair, Missouri
We all enjoyed the fishing trip. Just like last time, you put us on some great spots! You and Eric are committed to excellent service, and it is greatly appreciated!
We definitely will be back. And we will land some amberjacks. We will probably do a 15hr trip next time..
Thanks for the trip. We brought the fish home and had some immediately for
afternoon meal. You boat is great for the young and older ones like me.
Dave, Shelley, Rene', Dahlia, Cory and James
Thanks so much to you and Eric. I must admit that we were a bit on the edge on the cost of the Daisy Mae, but after experiencing her comfortable accommodations & fishing set-up we would gladly pay for the experience again. Add to that the competent advice from Eric and it made for a great day on the water.
We’d like to come back again when the water is a little warmer when we can get even more fish.
Ughhh, just got back to Penna last night to a sweltering 24 degrees.
We had a great time and look forward to booking with you guys again in the fall.
Thanks for a great trip. Joe Wiesmeth
Hey Mr. Hood, thanks for the titling me angler of the month in January. I hope your boat is doing well now. I wish we could have stayed out the whole day, I was certainly in a sort of zone that day. You guys are top notch and I always appreciate your expertise in putting us on the grouper. There is nothing better than a captain that knows what he's doing and doesn't sit long at a spot that doesn't produce.. I hope you and the family are doing well. Tell Eric and your grandchild hello for my folks and me.
Downtown Russ B.
Hi Dan - just wanted to tell you that you and Eric sure do live up to your
reputation as WORLD CLASS ANGLERS. The Grouper Team had a great time, caught
a lot of grouper and they were all big ones on this last trip- WOW it just doesn't
get any better than that!! Thanks!
Butch, Peggy and Doug
Hi Capt. Dan & Eric,
My husband and I were on a mixed party trip with you on October 20, 2005. It was great! You are very accommodating and we had a blast! The fish is/was delicious! Your boat is very comfortable and we hope we can go fishing with you again! We’re also pleased that they will be allowing black grouper fishing in November and December this year.
Carla & Warren Austin
Hey captain Dan, Eric, and Curt. This is Chris Iorio from the 12 hour trip we took on October 10th. I just wanted to say my parents and I had a really good time. The boat was great. The fishing was great. This was the best trip I have ever been on, and I highly recommend this trip to anyone. Thanks again for a great time and I hope to see you guys in April. Thanks again, Chris Iorio
Captain, Dan We really appreciate the great time we had. It's people like you and Eric that make days like that very memorable. All of us enjoyed the day very much and you will definitely see us back again. Here's to you, sir. An awesome captain and a very talented individual. Thank you for putting us on fish when nobody else could seem to find them. Have a great day and may you have many great fishing days ahead!......Go get 'um, guys.
Hey Capt Dan, this is Dan from the 9/17/2005 Trip, we had a great time and will be back for sure. We had a big fish fry Sunday everyone said it was delicious. Thanks for all your skill and effort to make it a great day.
Dan, We had a great time, the pleasure was all ours! Really appreciate you working with us so we could salvage some fishing time out of a very busy schedule. Look forward to seeing you with my family next summer. Keep a tight line!!! Bruce
Hello Guy's, just wanted to thank you for a great trip! What a work Out You guy's sure did put us on the fish. Looking forward for another great trip next year! Thanks Again Sharpe Construction INC. August The 23rd
I have been recommending the site to some of the people I have met through work
Capt Dan and Eric Thanks for a great trip. Uncle Tony is still complaining about losing his bait in the current and says if it happens again someone is going to get whacked, Thanks again, Doctor Pat
Hi "Granddaddy" and Eric! We had the best time fishing with you guys! Crabby Bill's cooked up some of our fish and it was delicious! Can't wait to fix it at home! We are all proud of our catch and plan to come back again! Hope to see you both again! Thanks, the Oakes family!
August 3,2005 Thoroughly enjoyed viewing the pictures of the HUGE grouper caught by our daughter-in-law, April Turner. What a fish!!! Both Wesley, our son, and April were thrilled and I'm sure we will be talking about their trip with you for some time to come! Susan and Wallace Turner
This is Ken Starr, no not that Ken Starr but anyway I wanted to thank the crew for a gtreat day fishing. It toke me a while to get the technigue down being and old Texas bas fishermen. Erik keep routing for our "BOY's" the Dallas Cowboys and we might get back the the "Big Game". Look forward to fishing on your boat again someday. Ken Starr* from the Lone Star.
Capt. Dan and Capt. Eric: Last week I was invited on a charter out of St. Augustine. I love fishing, so I accepted. During that trip I remembered how super we are always treated on the Daisy Mae and what a professional boat you two operate. The chartered vessel was filthy and poorly maintained. In fact our departure was delayed because the generator wouldn't operate (which meant the air conditioning wouldn't work, either). The captain and mate were certainly nice folks, but not as friendly or competent as the Daisy Mae crew. And the mate offered NO HARASSMENT, to which Ted and I have grown accustomed from Eric. I wanted to write this to you because I feel like we've been treated well by you and I can't wait to get back out on the Gulf side. There are no unwelcome surprises on the Daisy Mae. That's important to us, especially when we bring folks out we intend to impress. We're in the process of putting another trip together. I anticipate you'll hear from Ted soon. Regards, David B
Captain Dan, I just want to let you know how much we enjoyed the trip with you and Jeff on Saturday. This was the best fishing trip that all five of us have ever been on. We really enjoyed the fishing, company and instructions given us on the best way to catch those grouper and snappers. The pictures are great and we are showing the catch to all of our friends and hope to make another trip very soon. April (Wesley's wife) is the talk of the town. The huge grouper she caught was an awesome catch. Without you and Jeff, that would not have been possible. What an experience for all of us and for her. It was the first time she had been deep-sea fishing and her husband said that the biggest fish she had ever caught was a bream. I wish I could experience her telling her friends and coworkers about the trip and her catch. You know she is really having a great time with that. As you know, this was a present to our son and what a present it turned out to be! He caught the largest grouper he has ever caught and he has caught a few. He was thrilled. Thank you for making this a special trip for him. What a great way to celebrate being home from Iraq. For Wesley, he was showing me a picture of a five pound bass he had caught a few days before the trip. From now on, I think the big bass he catches ( He loves to fresh water fish as well) will take on a whole new perspective. Siri, my wife, and I are anxious to take another trip. Can't wait! Once again, THANK YOU!! The memories of this trip will last forever, Captain. Sincerely, Dan Berberette
I was the rookie on the boat. It was the best trip I have been on. They make you feel like family. Thanks for the great trip Capt. Dan The "ROOKIE"
Thank you Capt. Dan & Capt. Eric. We really enjoyed our trip on June 9th, 2005. You guys were really fun to fish with! We had Crabby Bill's cook some grouper for us before we left FL to return to Missouri. It was awesome!! Thanks again!! John & Marrisa Brown
Dan, Thank you for a great and memorable day. You and Eric were terrific and will definitely be booking another fishing trip in the future! Take care, Karen P
Thanks for taking us out on a not so great looking day to start out. It was the first time I had ever been deep sea fishing and although I was inexperienced, you and your mate Eric were alot of fun in giving me grief about how bad I was. That's alright, I plan to get much better as I am now "hooked" on deep sea fishing. Thanks for a great "unbeknownst" birthday present. I'll be back for more! Craig Turner
Captain Dan and Eric: We certainly enjoyed the fishing trip. It is one that my eight (8) year old will not forget. I like the way you run the boat as a family business, with the business of catching fish and not as a comedy team, which I frequently find. We will be looking to schedule another trip when I return to Dunedin in the fall. Let me know what you suggest as the best time to catch big fish. Again, nothing to complain about relative to the trip. Jeff McKinney Huntsville, Alabama
NICE FISHING REPORT...I WROTE ROY CRABTREE ABOUT THE COMM. FISHERMEN TO!!!!!!! KEEP ON THEM!!!! AND MAYBE THEY WILL FINALLY LISTEN! NICE PILE OF FISH,,,,,,,WOW,,,,TUNA TOOOOOOOO! TAKE CARE, THANKS FOR GETTIN BACK,,,CANT WAIT TO GET OUT!!
GREAT TRIP !!!!!!!!! 8 TUNA !! We all had fun even though the seas were a bit rough. Thanks for your excellent boat handling skills and thanks to Eric for being such a GREAT MATE. Look forward to seeing you 5/19 for more TUNA !!!!
Capt. Dan and Eric, Jeanne and I had a GREAT time on April 5th. I was sore for a week after reeling in those fish. I cooked the Spanish Mackerel on some mesquite coals with mayo. Good eating! I'll have to get in better shape before I take a Big Game trip next year. Thanks for a great time, Chad (April AOM)
Capt. Dan and Capt Eric, We had another great trip aboard the Daisy Mae. All in our party had a super time. The Spanish Mackerel and the King Fish were hitting well. The grouper were hard to coax up on this trip but it probably had something to do with how Eric was baiting the hooks and not the bite or your driving ! ALWAYS A GREAT TRIP ON THE DAISY MAE. LOOKING FORWARD TO OUR MAY 6 TUNA RUN !!!
Hi Dan, Thanks for giving us a great day on the 4th April. We all had a great time and it is great to see our photo on your web site. We will return to Florida next year if not before and will defiantly be booking another trip with you. Many thanks Mark Lowen and family
Hi Dan, I wanted to let you know that my family & I had a GREAT time yesterday. You & Eric did a wonderful job & were fine hosts. I'm sure I will see you again!! We grilled up both types of the fish last night & it was delicious. Take care & keep up the great work. Jeni
Once again--great day-this makes how many? My knee & arm are black and blue (thanks Eric). You know I'm such a "delicate rosebud". Eric, Pops said he's going to" fishing school" and he'll be picking on you. Another great trip-thanks. Oh, gotta go--making coconut kingfish. We love you guys--see you in November Joanne and Paulie
Hey Guys! Had a BLAST fishing with you on March 24th! Too bad we lost so many, but I'm happy with the 3 keepers that we brought home. Thanks again for an awesome fishing experience. "Shakes"
Here's an old but great story! I went with the Daisy Mae crew in January of 2000. I had always wanted to put a message in a bottle and toss it out to sea. Well I secretly did off the end of the Daisy Mae that January and was contacted by a women in Nederland, TX almost 3 years later saying that her grandson had found the bottle while out fishing...strange, but true! The note was still legible after all those years. My trip on the Daisy Mae made one of my biggest dreams come true!
Captain Dan & Eric: Thanks to each of you for as always providing a safe, fun, productive, pleasurable and beautiful day on the Gulf. You guys truly provide the best fishing service in the Gulf of Mexico. Thanks for the memories and fish. Tight lines, Shelby Best
Thank you for our exciting first-time adventure of deep sea fishing. Even though we only caught four keepers (and an octopus), it was still one of our most favorite events of our week-long vacation. It was also thrilling having two dolphins following us around. We ate some of our groupers Monday night and we all agreed that they tasted really good. It would definitely be something we would try again. Thank you Captains Dan and Eric for a great trip. Barbara & Larry Wolf; Joel, Sheila, Alan and Nick Novatne.
Hey Dan Well I finally made it back to Afghanistan. I just wanted to write and thank-you for the great day I had on your boat. I really would not have had it any other way. Being out there really took my mind off of all the shit that goes on here and that is what I needed. The hospitality and my fishing comrades will never be forgotten. No need to thank me for the gifts for it was truly my honor besides it was the least I could do. I hope to repay the favor one day if you and your family ever make it up North my way. I really would love to stay in touch the next couple of months. You could give me some fishing reports and I can let you know what is going on around here. I guess the biggest thing going on here right now is the New Years celebration the Afghans have on March 21. Where I am at in Maser-E-Shreif is like the celebration they would have at Times Square back in the States. They are expecting close to a million people in the city. Basically a security nightmare. We are placing ANA(Afgan National Army) all over in the city so I will be smack dab in the middle of it. I just hope I can get the support that I requested but you know how that goes.....Thanks again Dan. Remember that a bad day of fishing is still better than a good day at work. I don't know how that ties into you though:) Take care and tight lines.............Jeff-----
Capt. Dan You guys did a great job and we all could not have been happier with our fishing trip. We will use you guys the next time a trip comes up. Thanks again. Thank you, Chris Givens
Thanks for a great trip. It was the best fishing trip I've ever been on. Great service and a very clean ship. Definitely will look you up and do it again. Winter Ng
Captain Dan, and Eric, Just got back to Duluth, its 25 degrees and snowing. Had a great time, Mitch had a super time thanks again. Bob
Pretty cool web site for a Charter. Best I have seen I think. Keep up the good work on the web and out fishing! -KodiakZach - East Coast FL.
I'm a woman angler in Sarasota, FL interested in taking fishing trips & attending seminars with other women. Write to: Sue Wynne, PO Box 51445, Sarasota, FL 34232

catch of the day
Great time - great catch. Thanks again! The web pix are a "reel" bonus. Looking forward to the next trip out.
Wow super trip last week, thanks for all the Grouper! :) Bill W
John Holz From New Port Richey: Had a great time fishing. The mate was one of the best ever. Vary professional and friendly. And the captain knows were the fish are. Thank you for a great time and great fishing. We will be back! P.S. After our charted we got back to the house and practiced setting the hook real hard on the jacks in the canal. Thanks again John,Butch,Todd,Tom,Ed.
HI Jerry.... We caught the Wahoo 40 miles west of Clearwater FL.... We are always looking for them :) Can I find another one? Well there are a lot of Wahoo in the Gulf, but Bruce got one that will be hard to beat! But we will sure try! Dan
My boyfriend Todd recently went out on the Daisy Mae. We would love to see pictures from this trip if you have them. Give me a buzz when they are posted. Thanks, Debbie
The photo of Bruce Etzler with the huge wahoo makes me envious. Where was the fish caught? How long did it take to land it? Can you find another one like it? :-) jerry LR Chandler
Thank you so much for such a memorable trip. We had such a great time with you that we look forward to it again the next time we visit Florida! .....Tom Martin and family
Hey captain Dan and captain Erik. This is Charlie Clark the one that caught the 48 inch barracuda just wondering how you are doing. and did you guys catch any more big fish. I really had a really good time going fishing. well have fun driving the Daisy-Mae. Charlie
Thank You for a wonderful and exciting trip. Your expert knowledge of the water put us on the fish 1st. time every time. Blake had the best fishing experience of his life. Has not stopped talking about it yet. We are all looking forward to our next trip with you & Capt. Eric. It was worth every minute of the 14 Hours it took to get there. Thanks again to you both for making our vacation one we will never forget. Wishing you well from Louisiana. Linda, Blake & Eric Edwards (July 26,04)
Dear Dan, Our sincere thanks to you and Eric for making our first fishing excursion so enjoyable! We took our mackerel to Crabby Bills for lunch and had them prepared several different ways.....they were delicious! We all agree that we would love to go fishing again the next time we are in Florida, so look to see us again! Thanks! The Penatzers, Lori, Tim, Eden and Adria
Thanks for a great trip today, we really enjoyed all the stories the mate had to tell! Jimbo Jones
Hello Capt Dan & Capt Eric Although I moved to Dallas Texas, I still have your web site as one of my favorites and check it regularly. Glenn, Steve and big Bill Wilson tell me that it's just not the same without "ol Bud" on board. I just want you both to know that the few times a year that I got together with my friends and the two of you are the best memories that I have of Florida. I hope that somewhere down the road I get that chance to do it again. I promise that I won't drink too much. I have to loose the label that Glenn gave me. "The only guy he knows that got too drunk to fish" I was fishing fine, it's just that Eric sprayed my bait with fish away! Where's the pic's of the guys on the 23rd? Oh, and the part about not drinking.......................... I lied Stay safe.
Captain, Just wanted to drop you a quick line to let you know how much I enjoyed our trip on Friday. You run a great tour, and Eric was superb! I am glad you have such a good web site, as that is how we ended up picking the Daisy Mae. Thanks again. Fair winds and following seas. Bob Fink
Capt Dan and Eric, Thanks for the great trip. The fishing was absolutely fantastic!!! Had a wonderful time. You get my vote for Capt. and first mate of the year.... thanks again.... Guy
Capt Dan The men had a GREAT time, and already talking about another trip. So glad I found you on the web. Your website was the only one that had all the answers that I needed to find a reputable charter company to send my guys out with.
Cool site Capt.. Dan Karen Coleman
We really enjoyed our fishing trip the only thing we would change would be more fishing time it was hard taking turns and waiting so long in between turns
Captain Dan and Eric Thanks again for yet another great day of fishing. It's so relaxing and such great fun to be on your boat. My arm is still sore from catching all those GROUPERS. Paulie and Joanne Egan
Captain Dan and Eric, We had a GREAT time fishing with you. Aaron is still talking about that huge Cuda he caught! I will be sure to recommend you to anyone going deep sea fishing. I hope we can come back and do it again with you. Thanks for the great memories. The Kleemanns (Monday, April 5)
Captain Dan and Eric, A load of thanks for making our fishing adventure so much fun. We had a great time!!! Loved the whole experience. You both made it special even if all Captain Dan did was yell "Fire in the hole" Ha! Ha! (which fortunately he did quite often). Just kidding Captain Dan. Can't wait to come back next year. You both are true professionals at your job. Thanks again, The Fields (Bruce, Diann, Dale, Denise and Taylor, Sunday, March 28th)
Captain Dan, Eric thank you for making our trip a special day the boat was in great shape the fishing was awesome and the day was unforgettable. You two have to be the best in the business keep up the great job you do thanks again Mike and family
CAPT Dan and Eric, I wanted to thank you for a fantastic trip on 3/26. It was by buddy, Jason's bachelor party and it was a blast. You knew right where to troll for the Kings. I can't thank the two of you enough for making the trip a complete joy. All we had to do is concentrate on catching fish and the two of you took care of the rest. We are planning a two day trip for next year. Thank you again, Dean Harkey
We all had a great time, the fishing trip was the highlight of our week vacation in Florida. Thanks again. Jim Golembeck
Dan, Renae and I really enjoyed our day of fishing yesterday. The weather was great and we caught fish!! We very much appreciate your excellent charter boat operation and service. Gary S
Captains Dan and Eric I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your hard work and dedication to providing a world class fishing adventure. Once again the Daisy Mae didn't disappoint with a limit of Amber Jack and 40 Grouper 10 of which were over 20 lbs. To bad the Red Snapper were out of season or we would surely had a limit of those as well. Cant wait to see you next month. Fair winds and following seas Mike Withers
Hi ya! Just wanted to say I had Fun fishing last Sunday (the 7th) even though Eric said i fished like a girl! It was great fun, and I still wish we could have gotten a picture of Captain Dan almost jumping into the ocean to get cooks fish! And I promise if we ever get to go again, I promise not to call the bottom the "floor". Thanks! Charlene
Shiver Me Timbers! If I am correct the picture from 3-6 shows the outlaw Jerky Grouperman. I-TACOS (the International Team About Collecting Outrageous Sportsmen) will pay for this information. If not to collar the Jerkyman, than to find his evil brother who poisoned that poor mariachi band with the illicit fish tacos. Back to the Spanish Main. Tornado
Dan and Eric... Thanks for a great trip, hope to come back soon Jimmy J
Nice and informative, you should add it to the Outdoor Directory so more people can find your information. http://ioutdoors.org its free!
We did 8 hours on January 24th and had a great time. So good of a time, we have already booked another 8 hour trip for April. Thank you for the good time and see you again. Dave from Tampa
We all had a great time aboard your beautiful boat. Thanks for trying to get us where the fish were. We all appreciated your efforts. Hope to see you again in the near future. Take care and God bless. Dick Phelan
Capt. Dan & Eric you make catching the BIG ones so easy! Thank you for yet another wonderful fishing trip! The Daisy Mae Grouper Team-Butch, Peggy & Doug
Another magical trip on the Daisy Mae! Captain Dan & Eric, you are, hands down, the BEST of the BEST! -Paula

We had a wonderful time and the grouper was excellent! We'll definitely be back. Hopefully for a full day trip. Have a Happy New Year, and once again, we had a ball! Ann
Capt. Dan-I don't know how you do it, but you manage to find us BIGGER and MORE Grouper than ever before. Made a lot of happy memories for us went a long way towards filling the freezer. You and Eric are the BEST! Happy Holidays to you both and your families! The Daisy Mae Grouper Team-Butch-Peggy & Doug
Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night. Jerky Grouperclaus
Capt Dan and 1st Mate Eric, thanks for the great fishing trip today 15 Dec 03. As I send this message the grouper are cooking on the out door grill. We will be calling you guys again for another trip. Bill, Bob, Mike, Paul, and Vince
Hello Capt. Dan and Eric on 12-8-03 we would like to say we really enjoyed our day out on the ocean and we will be seeing you again. Willie will get the shark next time. Thanks for your kindness
Alas, I see the infamous Jerky Grouperman made an appearance on 12/1 and posted a nice catch. Too bad he had to do it with 6 adults instead of taking kids fishing like that crew on 11/21 did. Hugs - not drugs and may I add (for the kids) grouper - not pooper. Jerry
Just looked at the pictures again. Can't wait to go again. See you on December 19 Doug
This is an open letter to the Captain and Crew of the Daisy Mae IV as well as all the loyal fisherman and women who toil daily in search of the Great Grouper, I see that a Tornado made a showing in the Today's Catch section. I had heard he retired in shame at being shown up by the greatest fisherman on the greatest Grouper boat that God has ever graced (Jerky and the Daisy for all you rookies). As for a knot pulling you should have used a modified commercial knot. As for the curse of Jerky scientists from far and wide have speculated but never confirmed any such curse most people will tell that there really isn't a Jerky that it is a marketing ploy by the State of Florida to increase tourism. Why just the thought of a man 7ft tall that eats lightning and craps thunder couldn't be true. Well I will end this letter with one word of advice Tornado you should stick to the Daisy Mae and with Ron G they will never let you down and always find the fish. Fair winds and following seas. Clay Aiken (Eric's best friend)
Captains Dan and Eric; Year after year you consistently put me on fish in a quality boat with quality equipment. The trip to the Promised Land 11/21 was incredible with a limit of keepers! Everyone had a blast celebrating the lack of the "Curse of Jerky Grouperman". Good thing "there are no big fish out there" or what would we do since we had a hook straightened and a knot pull (my version) or the fish in the rocks (Eric's hallucination) :). Awesome. Best trip yet. Sorry the Tuff Tips are failing. Will discuss with Jarvis personally. Tornado
Dear Capt. Dan & Eric, Thanks for another great trip out on the Daisy Mae. The holes we fished were red hot! It was such a wonderful day. The catch today was bountiful. The fishing was really super. We are all convinced that the two of you speak "grouper"! Thanks again!!!!! Jill, Paula & The Grouper Team
Dear Capt. Dan and Eric This is your internet winner for June. What an awesome experience! Although we would have really liked going on the 12 hour trip originally planned, but, because of the inclement weather-the four hour deal was incredible anyway. Everyone can't stop talking about it. Didn't go more than 10 minutes without hooking up! A huge THANK YOU from the Tampa General Hospital Crew. Looking forward to taking your beautiful boat for a much longer excursion soon. Now we know why you have the best reputation in the business. Good Job! John Mumford and the Tampa General Crew
Capt Dan and Eric- What a great day of fishing we had Sunday. I had positive feedback from every member of our group: David, Neil, Julius, Wayne, Lalo and myself. We calculated we caught greater than 75 fish with a resounding 23 legal limit fish. No one was disappointed. Everyone, to the man, wants in on the next trip. We have already recommended you to others, who by the way want to go on our next trip. Thanks again for a great day and keep the lines tight. Grady Walker.
Hi Dan, I want to thank you again for a great trip. The boat is beautiful, roomy, and comfortable, and you sure know where the fish are. I had a blast. I appreciate how hard you and Eric worked to help us all put fish in the box, and how patiently you put up with my personal goof ups. I learned quite a lot and plan to haul in the " big one" next time. Robin M
Dan, We really enjoyed the day and we all agree you guys are the best, we will definitely book our future trips with you guys. Regards Pieter
Hello to the best fishing boat on Clearwater, From Chris, Brando, Pieter, Dewalt, Nico and Kelly, it was a very nice day. Thank you
We want to thank Eric and Bob for a great day fishing we didn't kill the fish but we got a few nice ones and a great time woody, Larry, Patrick and Justin hopefully we can come back in November if so we will book in advance again we all thank you woody
Dear Capt. Dan, What an adventure our fishing outing was. We have entertained our out of town guest numerous times on your boat and have never been disappointed. This last trip however out did all the past trips. Many of the catches exceeded 20 pounds. My 10 year old caught a 22 pound grouper and is still talking about it. As usual we found the boat immaculate and you and your first mate incredibly courteous. The Daisy Mae continues to be second to none in the Tampa Bay area. Thanks, Guy
Capt. Dan, The Mate I had a great time out their (Wednesday 27).I'm glad my dad's friend (Guy) took us out their. I love to go out in boat's and fish. I was really glad when my dad asked me. When I got their I was so excited! I had so much fun, especially when I caught that 30lb. Grouper!! Man, that fish was strong. I was glad when the Mate that was with us helped me get the fish and reel him up. I loved it! Plus when I went inside and laid on the bed, it was comfortable and I fell asleep very easy when I felt a little tired. The boat was clean too. I would say that was the best fishing trip I ever had!!!.I love that boat The Daisy Mae. Thanx a lot! Laura A.
You guys were great. I loved it. Will certainly refer friends to you that may be traveling to the gulf. Hoping to visit and fish some more in the next 2 years. Thanks again. The fish tasted great that evening.
Thanks for a great trip. everyone had a great time. I was very impressed with the organization of your equipment. It is obvious that you run a first class operation. Next time please make sure that I win the pot. Joe Mac
We all enjoyed our vacation to Florida and the highlight of the trip was our fishing trip with you and Eric. We are all anxious to return and you can be assured we will book at least a day of fishing with you. Thanks for making our trip soooooo memorable and fun. We had a blast!!! Sincerely, Mike Dye and Family Liberty, MO
I can see your trips provided the clients with some real fishing stories. I enjoyed viewing the pictures and would like to come fish with the Daisy Mae crew one day. Good luck with future fishing expeditions and promote children fishing. They are the future. Create a smile, take a child fishing.
Dear Eric and Capt. Dan, The men haven't stopped talking about the wonderful fishing trip the two of you supplied. Thank you so much for your professionalism. The men want to do it again sometime and they spoke very highly of you both and will come back to enjoy another day with you in the future. We will always recommend you to our friends! Thanks again from the bottom of our hearts! Karen Loos
Dan Thanks for what was a great days fishing. My Father in Law (Brian) has always wanted to do this, it was a dream come true (as you can see from the picture). We will definitely recommend the Daisy Mae to any of our friends visiting Florida and look forward to fishing with you again in the future. Crabby Bills cooked the fish for us I've never tasted fish like it, fantastic!! Thanks once again to you and Eric Barry
Dan - Thanks alot for a great trip. We're already planning our next one. That tuna was unbelievable. I'm not big on eating fish, but that tuna was fantastic. Catching the tuna and amberjack was a blast.... I've fished all of my life, but I've never experienced anything quite like hauling in one of those tuna or amberjack. I look forward to the next tuna/amberjack trip.... Thanks again - Terry -
Thanks Dan. We all had a blast and are looking forward to a grouper trip with you guys soon. Bruce Johnson
Capt. Dan & Capt. Eric, I had a blast fishing with you last Friday. You are nice people who know how to have fun and catch fish. I'll be back. Dan Ricker
Thank you very much for everything Capt. Dan and Eric did for us on our fishing trip. My clients had an absolutely great time. I had a great time catching that 45 lbs Baracuda! WOW!!! I will be bringing not only clients but now an anuual fishing trip with friends. Thanks again! Kevin Mahoney
Without a doubt, we will be back.. The guys (my clients) were impressed with the boat and the hot spots you found. The boat was clean, A/C was great and we can't wait for our next trip. Tell Eric I'll teach him how to fish next time. Thanks again, Mark the 'Grouper King'
What can I say but WOW! The offshore trip was the best! Our arms are still sore from reeling in all those BIG fish. Thanks for one of the best fishing trips we have ever had! We love you guys! The Daisy Mae Grouper Team
We (Bill Nelson) and I had a great day fishing with you and the Netterfields. Hope we get to do it again soon. You made our day really great. Tks again Billy Passmore
A more genial host and mate, you'll never find. Capt'n Dan and Eric are friend for family and fisherman! We had a great trip, caught good fish and will be talking about this experience for a long time! Thanks Dan and Eric! Welford Bruce, Jennifer & John Duffey, Jay and Ryan Carbone (Da' Boys, ages 10 and 7)
Thank you for the Fantastic fishing trip . We had some of the fish prepared at the friendly fisherman at St Johns Pass it was terriffic. Don Galbreath Erie Pa
Capt Dan and Eric: Thanks for the great day of fishing, we all had a great time. We all dressed like we were all going to get wet, fishy, etc., but with the way you run and maintain a ship shape operation we could have wore are Sunday best. I'm so used to hosting hunters it felt especially good to have the tide turned. IT WAS ALL THUMBS UP, THANKS AGAIN, KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK AND HOPE TO SEE YOU NEXT YEAR!!!!!! Dan, Pam, Tyson & Travis.
Captain Dan and Captain Eric I want to thank both of you for a fantasy come true fishing trip. The 48 Hour excursion into the Gulf Middle Grounds was a fishing adventure of a lifetime. With 47 Grouper (30 over 20lbs) all of the Mango Snappers and the odd Jack. It was unbeatable and I am looking forward to all the other terrific trips that we planned for the future. And Capt Dan you were right a little condensation wont hurt me or the fishing. Thanks again Mike Withers.
Oliver has decided that he wants to come back! He had such a great time. Eric, I am sending you a book you will like as an additional thanks for all your kindness. My husband looked at the picture and said, I can tell "my boy" was well taken care of by the crew! Please allow us to be a reference any time for you. Holly (the only one who did not fish).
MAE DAY!!! MAE DAY!!! DAISY MAE DAY!!! On Tuesday (February 18) I was shoveling two feet of snow off the driveway to get to the Airport. On Thursday my family and I were fishing the Gulf in 75 plus degree sunshine. What a cure for the winter blues! My little boy simply didn't want to stop fishing! I sensed the Captain didn't either, but, as they say, all good things must come to an end. The grouper were broiled and superb! Thank you for a great time. Clean, courteous, and very professional. Truly dedicated. (Reality check: NY forecast is for more snow this week) We will be back. Sincerely, David Johnson (2/20/03)
WOW!!!!! Jill, Greg & I are so envious of Team Netterfield. We obviously went back to California too soon. Team Kolaske is anxiously awaiting our return to Florida and our next fishing trip. Hope all is well. Greg & Paula Kolaske & Jill Newman
Capt. Dan and Eric--Can you believe it- I finally learned where the bottom is and look what happened- I was ANGLER OF THE DAY for the Daisy Mae Grouper Team. Thanks so much for all your help and another GREAT day of fishing! Doug
Ahoy Capt. Dan, You truly are CAPTAIN OF THE CENTURY! I've fished from coast to coast and have never come up with a catch like you can find. Today's fish were bigger and better than any I've ever caught. You and Eric might have made it possible for me to defend my title of JANUARY ANGLER OF THE MONTH. I'll be back!!!!!! Daisy Mae Grouper Team, Team Leader Butch
Captain Dan- You are the Man!!! What a wonderful day we had today. What great fish we caught! It was truly a fantasy trip with everything being more than we could have ever imagined!! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! Daisy Mae Grouper Team members, Peggy & Doug
Capt. Dan you are the Captain of the Century!!!!!! You always manage to find us those giant groupers that we love to catch! Thanks for a GREAT week of fishing with you and Eric! --Butch, Doug and Peggy
Capt, We flew home yesterday on American Airlines, and the only thing they requested was that if you used dry ice, that the fee was $45.00. They also said that the container must be leak proof. Thanks for great times and memories and the fish too...
Captain Dan and Eric; Just a short note to thank you so very much for a fun and productive day on 11/27! 15 keepers on a 6 hour trip is remarkable and I am so happy that Brett caught two keepers at only 6 years old. Another great trip - you are the best! Tornado
Dear Capt. Dan and Eric, Today’s fishing was the best! Twenty- nine big groupers, Who would have ever guessed? The sun was out, there was no chop, The conditions were sublime! With each drop of the hook There was a grouper every time! Thanks for the best fishing trip That has ever come my way. Now all my future fishing Will be on the Daisy Mae.
Dear Captains Dan and Eric; As a matter of constant vigilance, through which we are attempting to make Jarvis Walker the premier boat-rod of the 21st century, my colleagues and I constantly scan the web. We are looking for a number of things: - Brand name recognition - The use of our products by professionals - Results - Applicability in numerous scenarios - Intelligence beyond just catching fish We have been intensely scrutinizing the performance of the Daisy Mae as of late. We are impressed that you have recently adopted the TUFF-TIP technology (we assume in response to the non-conformist antics of the misunderstood Jerky Grouperman) to eliminate losses. We would like to engage in a professional relationship with your company for a number of reasons: 1: The fact that the Jarvis Walker rods cannot only catch bait, but due to the Tuff-Tip construction can serve as a push pole for a 45 foot boat such as the Daisy Mae. This is SO IMPORTANT in avoiding manatee injury while throwing top-waters to red grouper on the flats. 2: The fact that anglers such as Mr. and Mrs. Tornado, and most importantly their 6 year old child, can benefit from our technology to boat such outsized grouper would be a feather in our cap. 3: On the Daisy Mae anglers not only learn the basics, but through dialect between Dan and Eric learn about “fuel exhaustion” and “this anchor isn’t working properly, it’s stuck on the bottom”. However, given all the affirmative reasons to form a partnership, we are concerned with a few facts unearthed recently: 1: One of your clients called “Rooster” is under investigation by PETA. 2: The prime personality promoting your business – Jerky Grouperman – has suffered severe slumps in performance. Additionally, we are sorry to say, he is showing signs of delusions of grandeur. 3: Jerky’s brother Shorty is still under investigation in Mexico for the “Fish Taco” violation. We sincerely hope that our relationship can continue. No one doubts that the Daisy Mae is THE premier sportfishing vessel on the West Coast of Florida. The proof is in the pictures. Sincerely, Sharky Tornado under oath and allegiance to Jarvis Walker
We went for nine hours...... Dan
Dan looks like you had a great catch. How many hours did you go for to limit out?
What a great day we had today! Thank You! I still think my fish was the biggest--if not at least it was the prettiest! Peggy, Doug and Butch
Black grouper is the best. Once again you have displayed a professional charter presentation. My guests loved it and I'm sure they will be back. Capt Tom
I HAD SO MUCH FUN ON THE TRIP YOU GUYS DEFINATLY MAKE IT WORTH IT. YOUR A CLASSY BUNCH OF GUYS BARBARA SAWYER / BLANCHETTE CONSTRUCTION
I thought I would put something on your bulletin board ..... Thank you very much for the best fishing trip I have ever been on.(11-10-02) Despite the waves and rain we still came out with 29 big grouper. We all cant wait till the next time out. Thanks Daniel Dboangus@aol.com
Captain Dan and Eric, Thank you so much for such a memorable trip. We had such a great time with you that we look forward to it again the next time we visit Florida! We had our family over for dinner the day we fished with you and fed 14 people with just two of the Mackeral that we caught, and it was delicious! Thanks again, Karen Crewe Tucker
Capt Dan and Eric... You guys are the best. Thanks for another great trip! Tom and Elsie Brewin
Hi Capatain Dan, I was so happy to hear that you went for the series 60 Detroit. That is one hell of an engine I reckon we will cut the trip to the Flemish cap in half all the boys are excited Bobby, Bugsy, Murphy, Alfred Pierre, Sully, and Capt Billy Tyne. So we will see you on our next groupermania trip. Fair winds and following seas. Jerky Grouperman (PS I havent recieved my invitation to the relaunching it must be lost in the mail)
Hi Don Yes it is a new Detriot Diesel series 60 model. It has 750 HP and twice as much torque. We should be able to go futher in less time now. Looking foward to seeing you and the gang again.. Tight Lines Capt. Dan Hood
Hi Guys, Hear your getting a new motor. Is it a more powerful HP, to go faster. I hear it rocks. Cant wait to go out again! Don Miller
Great trip guys, Your the best. Thanks Jim and Terry
Hello Captains Dan and Eric just wanted to send a message and tell you what a good time we had fishing with you on May 9th. All the fellas Jerky, Shorty, Rooster, and Sharky had a great time and caught lots of great fish. But the highlight was the way that Larry (Teddy Bear) brought in his Tuna and the 3 large groupers he said this was the best Make-A-Wish trip he had ever been on and your caring and compassionate way of coaxing him to bring the fish in was much appreciated. Your hearts are as big as the boat you command. Your friend Sherman T. Potter
May 8, 2002 I enjoyed the opertunity to participate in the mixed party fishing. I am using the picture you took of our catch as wallpaper on my computer. I like to go deep sea fishing, but have no fishing buddies, so the mixed party will allow me to fish more often. I ocaisonally charter a boat just for myself but it is really too expensive for me. Had grouper for dinner tonight (5/09/02) just wonderful. Herb Phillips
May 9th; Ouch. My forearms literally hurt as I type this! Thanks Eric and Dan for another GREAT day of fishing. I think the total was 3 blackfin tunas each about 30#, 15 groupers including a bunch of big fish, 2 nice mango's and of course, my fearsome denizen of the deep! In all of my trips, this was my first trolling experience with you and I was VERY impressed with Dan's boat handling skills while fighting the tunas. It was a pleasure to help break the curse of "Jerky Grouperman" and to restore him to his delusional, albeit significant grandeur. And to hopefully see the birth of a new Angler of the Month, "Madman LarryBoy". Sincerely and sorely, "Sharky Tornado"
Hi Dan, I really enjoyed meeting and fishing with you yesterday. We caught some very nice grouper for the time we had. It was a great trip and everyone will be back.
Dan, we all really enjoyed the trip yesterday. It was perfect (except I forgot the sunscreen) and a great way to celebrate a 74th birthday for Charlie. We look forward to seeing you again soon. Thanks again for everything. JoAnn Campbell
HAD A GREAT TIME, IT WAS MY FIRST TRIP, I,LL BE SURE TO GO OUT WITH YOU AGAIN, GEORGE GUFFEY WITH THE GROUP OF SIX GUYS THAT I THINK BOOKED BY HAROLD THOMAS ON APRIL 24TH.... WE CAUGHT A LOT OF SPANISH MACKRELE, THEY WERE EXCELLENT ON THE GRILL THAT NIGHT, THANKS AGAIN, GREAT BOAT.......
Dan & Eric: Our group had an absolute blast and we all truly enjoyed and appreciated your kind hospitality ... we'll see you next year for another award-winning trip! Pat Barry & the Bell Labs / Motomco Group
Ahoy Capt. Dan! I had so much fun on the Daisy Mae! It was my first deep-water fishing expedition and you're fishing advice was much appreciated. One of our group, Rob, caught a 29 lbs. grouper (Monday, April 22nd) and you took pictures of him and me holding the gag. Could we see that picture up on your website soon? We'd like to share it with the family. Hope to go fishin' with your again SOON! Maybe next time we'll get to keep more of what we catch. Your friend, Sue Alexander
4/21/02 Captain Dan and Eric, Just wanted to thank you again for a great trip.Your boat is the BEST!!It will always be the one we'll be on. Looking forward to seeing you both again in December. The Egan family--
Is there really a Jerky Grouperman are is this some sort of marketing campaign for the Daisy Mae Fishing Company? If so does he do public appearances, and what are the upcoming dates?
Hi Dan and Eric this is Shorty Grouperman Jerky's younger brother. I just want to say that life is not easy following in the footsteps of the world's greatest grouper fisherman. I even tried to do good deeds myself just last week I went to Tijauana Mexico to see if I could feed the poor children. All that I accomplished was giving a fish taco to a guy in a mariachi band. But I will show Jerky when I make the long journey from my Mexican jail cell to the beautiful waters of Clearwater Beach for our May 9 fishing trip. And so far as the story of how I ended up in Jail that will have to wait until we are 12 miles out in international waters it's not suitable for your fine website. Adios Shorty Grouperman
I pulled up our picture at work today and everyone loved it and your boat! Thanks again for a great time. Hope to see you again! Tell Eric congrats on the NCAA tournament! Take care and thanks again! Cindy
(AP Wire Services Belize...)It was a hot muggy day in the poor village of Boca Del Vista where the locals took to there daily task of fortifying the dung huts waiting for the hurricane season to arrive. There was one difference this day, a different type of hurricane all together would lay siege to this village the long awaited return of El Jerky the Americano who without fear of losing life or limb would feed the hungry children of the village by fishing day and night for Grouperundos (Grouper) in 12 foot waves in a rubber raft. This hero was awarded the Medal of Honor in Belize for his gallantry. He returns from the north this day a broken man having only tales of the Grey Snapper but vowing that with the help of Captain's Dan and Eric and the great vessal Daisy Mae In the last weekend of April in this year 2002 ( and also a 12 hour trip May 9) return to greatness and one day again walk the streets and docks of both Boca Del Vista and Clearwater Beach as a true Grouperman and hero.
Captain Dan and Eric, We really enjoyed our trip last Saturday. You guys are a lot of fun to fish with and talk to. Thanks for all your help and advice. I look forward to fishing with you guys again. Thanks again, Dave Weller
I hope Maryland wins. Bob Knight
eric, thanks for the good time last tuesday morning. the fishing was great , but not quite as awesome as indiana and maryland both winning. good luck monday night .GO I.U.!!!!!!! mark barton Bourbon In. firstname.lastname@example.org
Why they are the best... Would you expect any less??? Dan
I was drawn to your picture of March 23rd I always wondered what kind of fisherman the Skipper and Giligan were could you please let me know?
Well, Captain Dan, we had another wonderful time with you and Eric on the Daisy Mae this week! Whenever Steve and I come down from MA to visit my parents, Mae and Newt Hamblet, the FIRST thing we plan for is another day on the Daisy Mae! Our weather couldn't have been better... and the barracuda were great fun to catch. Thanks for another great time. We can't wait to return! Carol and Steve Adams
Captain's Dan and Eric: I regret to inform you that Jerky Grouperman's vacation request for April has been denied, due to pending business priorities. As he has not fully committed himself to his job and has spent considerable time away with all of you, I feel he needs to set new priorities. Jerky Grouperman's Boss.
Captain Dan and Captain Eric thanks for making the video of your latest 48 hour groupermania trip. You know how I hate missing one of those. I was in the Bahamas shooting the television show for ESPN with George Povoromo I was showing him some of the Groper techniques that won me the Medal Of Honor in Belize for feeding the poor children Boca Del Vista. Well once again WOW on your recent catch looking forward to trip in April and remember to watch Fishing With Jerky Sunday mornings on ESPN. Fair winds and following seas. Tight lines and smooth drags. And last but not least you cant catch no grouper sitting on your pooper. Jerky Grouperman
Dan – We had a great time. Thanks for a really great fishing experience. We would recommend your boat to anyone. Too bad Continental Airlines lost my fish!
Your boat is gorgeous and the crew very polite. We enjoyed the trip and will come back again Nancy Doogan
Captain Dan & Eric the newlywed: Thanks for the great trip on December 30, 2001. My friends and I really had a blast. The highlight of the trip was the huge nurse shark that my son caught. Special thanks to Eric for insisting that he pull it in (with a lot of help from you.) Memories of that trip will last a lifetime for all of us. That is exactly why I wanted to move to Florida, for lots of opportunities to generate life lasting memories. From the big grouper, to the great Spanish mackerel, the Bonita and the huge shark, you guys made it easy to accomplish my mission. I look forward to our next trip! I hope I get my sea legs by then! Don, Matt, Bob, Steve and Michael
Hey Folks...Did you hear? Eric got married last week.... Check it out here www.hoodad.com/wedding
Captain Dan, We had another dreamlike day of fishing with you and Captain Eric. We caught bigger and more grouper than we ever have. You have a big hill to climb on our next trip, but your past history says you will. Butch, Doug and Peggy
Twas four nights before Christmas. And all through the Gulf not Grouper bieng caught, not even a Gag. The poles were lined on the gunnell with care with hopes that St. Jerky soon would be there. All of a sudden along came a clatter Dan yelled from the bridge what the hell is the matter. And of course how this fable ends Eric says he Jerked it. And as Jerky's brother Shorty says "God Bless us everyone"
Dan, Would just like to thank you for the wonderful time I had Wed. We ate some of the fish that evening and I hope to be able to go again soon. I have told all of my friends and they are wanting to go now.
DAN AND ERIC WE REALLY ENJOYED THE TRIP. DEC. 6 NEVER HAD A BAD TRIP WITH YOU GUYS. LOOKING FORWARD TO THE NEXT ONE. PERRY
Thanks for the fish'n lesson. I expect to be interviewed by ESPN soon. Thanks. Randy Hebert AAAAY---EEEEEE!!!
Who was the person who caught all those fish on the Dec 2nd trip? Was that the guy everone calls Jerky? If so that guy is a hell of a fisherman. He might be better than Babe Winkleman, Al Linder, and the guy that wears the Tennesee hat on TV.
Boy did we have a good time. Thanks Captain Dan and Mate Eric for teaching us how to fish and finding the big ones for us. Butch, Kim, Peggy and Doug and Terry
As always, we had a great trip. My arms are still sore from haulin' in those monster groupers. The weather treated us well with a little help from our scopolomean patch. Best wishes to Maggie and Eric.
Capt. Dan & Eric, I wanted to send you a belated thank you for a great trip. You guys are serious about catching fish. I won a few bucks but most importantly I got bragging rights for this whole year. That's me in the "Big Grouper" video. We will be back next year. Thanks again, Greg Adams Winter Haven, FL
I found this article on the news wire and I thought I would pass it on. Associated Press (Belize) Local fisherman tell tale of an Americano fisherman who came to these tropical waters and caught enough Grouper to feed the children of a nearby village for an entire year. And he taught the local fisherman the techniques to continue the harvest for there people. This Americano would paddle a rubber raft 30 miles offshore each day to bring back the bountiful feast. He was known by the locals as El Jerky and when he left he was heard to say he must help others in his own homeland (Clearwater) learn to fish for the great Grouper. President of Jerky Groupermans Fan Club
Wow.. what a catch on 11-07. Are they biting that good now? Chuck Berit
Hi Dan We went out with you in 1996 about this time of year for Kingfish. It was a blast. Cant wait to do it again. Love the web site. :) Bill Snoogle
Captain Dan. Thanks for the fun our BOYS had. We all truly enjoyed the fish, they were great. Is there any way we can get a picture of the one that shows up on the internet. When we printed it out it’s not very clear. Please help us out with this. Thanks Esther at epena~cyberport.com
CAPT DAN AND ERIC, HAD A GREAT TIME TODAY, CAUGHT A LOT OF FISH WITH THE HELP FROM YOU GUYS. I HAD OUR NEW BOSS WITH US TODAY CANT TELL YOU HOW MUCH IT HELPED. HE WAS VERY IMPRESSED WITH THE TRIP. AND HE HAS BEEN ON SEVERAL LOOK FORWARD TO GOING OUT AGAIN. THANKS, STEVE HILL
Dan Jut a note to tell you what a wonderful day we had aboard the Daisy Mae with you and Eric. It really was the best part of our trip from Rhode Island! We were so impressed, not to speak of thrilled with our catch. You can count on seeing us twice a year from now on! Thanks for everything. Marty and Penny Marciaro
For all that are looking for the experience of a life time look no further! Capt. Dan Hood and First mate Eric made this trip one of the most enjoyable and the degree of expertise demonstrated maximized our time fishing which resulted in all fisherman catching their limit by 1:30 with five fish over eighteen pounds. If you want to flsh&Catch rather than ride you need to call Dan!!! Don’t forget to ask Dan about his new and exciting Web site entitled’ ASK DAN” Best Trip Ever and will be back again!-Chuck Robertson-Tampa
Capt. Dan. cant thank you and Eric enough for the best day of fishing I’ve had in many, many years. Kudos’ to your expertise and professionalism in fishing. I’ll think of you guys with each bite of Grouper I take. We have already started planning for our next trip.
Wanted to thank Danny for the time of my life on a Bimini Wahoo excursion we went on back in 95, The daisy Mae is a stabile reliable vessel with all the amenities. You cant find a better Captain or guide as Danny. I’ve been a fishermen and boat owner most my life. I had a bad accident since which left me in a wheelchair, Memories of our trip will stay with me forever, Man did we catch fish Now that was living I recommend the daisy Mae and Danny to anyone who is serious to have a great time and catch fish!! Dan & Eric We had a great time today. Thanks for all the effort you guys put out for us. We stopped by Rumrunners and did our bragging on you guys. The fishing was great and we will book again soon. Perry and al1the group.
Dan and Eric, I want to thank you both for such a first class operation. I came down to visit some fraternity brothers and they set us up with you two. We fished on March 26, 2000. Everything your company does is first class and I would recommend any persons, novice or beginner, to fish with your charter. I have hired several offshore fishing outfits in the past and you have been the best. I appreciate the hard work you and Erilc put forth to making our trip very enjoyable. Again. Thank you. Gary Johnson Greenfield, Indiana
We were the envy of everyone as we pulled into the harbor and Eric unloaded our 30 plus fish onto the dock. We just pretended we were seasoned fishermen - and did this all the time. With you, Eric and the ‘Daisy Mae”. we COULD be professionals! (If only everyone could have heard our hearts thumping wildly with excitement!) We are now looking forward to our next trip to Florida, when we will book another fishing trip with you for sure. Until then, thanks again for the happiest day ... and mostly, for another wonderful memory with my parents I’ll cherish forever. Sincerely, Carol and Steve Adams Your ‘Fair Weather Friends :-) North Attleboro, MA
Dear Dan: As we head back to Massachusetts tomorrow, we leave with unbelievably happy memories of our vacation here these past two weeks with my parents. And at the top of our list of vacation highlights is our day with you and Eric yesterday! We have been deep-sea fishing many times, but our day with you was the best EVER! The “Daisy Mae’ is gorgeous and couldn’t be more comfortable. We really appreciated how hard you worked to find fish for us to catch and to make our day the very best one possible. Eric is the perfect first mate and couldn’t have been more helpful. He worked non-stop for all of us and was even bit as excited about our fish as we were. You are the PERFECT team!
Hello Dan. Cool site! It’s nice to know that someone in your business is up to speed on the net. On Saturday you will guide a group of fellas from Fargo ND. please send them my best! Tony \V. Phoenix AZ.

Dear Captain Dan and lst Mate Eric, I’m just getting back to Ohio after an excellent day of grouper fishing with you guys. I just wanted to say thanks again and it was nice to get out fishing on your awesome boat and with my grandpa. He really thinks a lot of you two and said what a good time we would have-man was he right! It was really exciting catching some big grouper! I hope your success continues this summer and next time I’m in town, I will look you all up! Thanks again Dan and Eric for being so polite and patient with everyone! You both are awesome people to be around and keep having urn at what you do! Also Eric-thanks for hooking me up on the parasail! Until next time, FIRE IN THE HOLE!!!! !!! Your rookie grouper man, Matt Roseberry
well guys i really enjoyed your charter, you really have a class act operation other than being sea sick or maybe it might just been the hang over, but anyways looking to doing business with you again ..thanks for a good time the groom to be, bill
I WANTED TO SAY THANKS FOR A JOB WELL DONE. MY CLIENTS WERE VERY IMPRESSED WITH YOUR BOAT AND THE RESULTS THAT IT AND YOUR EXPERTISE PRODUCED AND HAVE SAID THAT THEY WISH TO RETURN FOR ANOTHER LONGER TRIP. THEY ALSO THANKED ME FOR THE RESEARCH I DID TO FIND YOU. AS I TOLD YOU WHILE ABOARD YOUR FINE VESSEL WE HAD A TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE WITH ANOTHER CHARTER DO WIN IN FORT LAUDERDALE AND WERE AFRAID THAT IT MIGHT BE THE NORM FOR CHARTER CAPTAINS TO TREAT THEIR CUSTOMERS LIKE ROOKIE DECK HANDS. I AM NOW AND WILL FOREVER RECOMMEND YOURSELF, OR ERIC
Comments Hey this is Drew Hayes and i was down in Clearwater last week and it made my trip!It was awesome and I had great help. I hope ill get to come back down there sometime and catch bigger fish and stay out there Longer. Thanks for giving me a great fishing trip.
Captain Dan. This is our second trip on your boat in the last two years. It is a consensus among the guys to take a trip at least once a year. We have tried several charter companies, but nothing compares to the Daisy Mae. Seems like your boat catches the most even time and it is definately the nicest fishing boat in the marina. We have had Eric once as a mate and Maggie once as a mate, both did a superb job. Thanks a terrific trip. We will see you again within the year. John K
I would like to take a few minutes of my time and yours to Thank you for a wonderful and exciting trip. We were the first fishermen of the year 2000 to catch king mackerel. This was the most exciting fun loved moment in my fishing book of memories. Although I have only fished the lakes and streams of the land locked States the trip aboard your vessel will stay in my mind for a long time to come. I was also very pleased to have met the professional staff aboard, and would recommend your services over any other. While walking in the Marina area your boat stands out as the nicest and cleanest among the fleet of fishing boats. I will return again someday and I will charter your boat and staff Thanks again for the great trip Michael D Lauderback
Captain Dan and First Mate Eric Just wanted to say once again thank you for a great day of fishing on the Daisy Mae VI. Austin and I had a great time not only with the fishing but just getting to know you and Eric. It is one thing to catch fish but another to be able to do it with wonderful people and great weather. Austin and I have told the fishing day story many times since our trip. Don't know why but his Grouper keeps getting bigger and bigger. I think this must have been something he learned from Eric. :) Daisy Mae is a great vessel but she also has a great Captain and Mate. We would also like to thank you for posting our catch on the web site. Today was my first day back at work and I spent much of my time just looking at the site and thinking about the great day we had. Captain Dan, I wish you the very best and most success as you continue to give people that once in a lifetime adventure. My day with you and with my son was definitely a blessing from above. Thanks to you and Eric for making it even more special. Hope to see you next year! Best Regards Austin and Lee Robbins
Dan, I want to thank you for the finest service I have ever had on a charter boat. You run a very class act operation and I will definitely use your services in the future as well as pass your name on to others that we know that live near us in Clearwater. Again thank you for a fine quality trip and a great catch. If there is anything I can do as far as a reference, please feel free to give me a shout. Thank You Dan !!!!! Rob Jordahl Fargo ND
Just a note to say thank you again. We had a great time. If you ask Nicholas " What was the best part of your vacation?" The answer is not Disney, it is not the Big Red Boat.... The answer is the "Daisy Mae". I guess that says it all. George Murphy & Nicholas
